Fake double crochet

In this step-by-step I show you how to start a row with a false double crochet instead of the usual two or three chains.


A true double crochet is nothing more than two single crochets woven together one over the other. Following the same principle, it is possible to make the false double crochet in a very simple way.


There are other ways to perform the false double crochet, this is just one of them. It's very easy and the result is perfect.

Insert the hook into the first stitch and yarn over
With two loops on the hook
Loop the yarn again
And pass through the two loops on hook. The first single crochet is done.
Insert the hook into the first leg (right) of the single crochet that was made
Loop the yarn
And pass through the leg.
Again with two loops on the hook
Loop the yarn and pass through these loops. The second single crochet is done.
The result is the false double crochet. As I said before, it's very easy to execute and it looks perfect.
