Judy's magic cast on - Alternative way

In this video I show you an alternative way to cast on stitches using the method created by Judy Becker. The result is the same.

I've already said here that I like doing the Turkish cast-on best, but recently I made a sock using Judy Becker's cast-on. I actually used her method with a slight variation which, in my view, simplifies things without affecting the result.

The video is short and to the point, and following the pattern I've adopted, it doesn't have audio or any distractions but it is very descriptive.

First I show you how to calculate the amount of yarn needed to cast on the stitches. Then I show you how to cast on a few stitches. Remember that I always knit in the Portuguese style, with the yarn going through the neck or through a brooch or pin.
